Women’s Cross Country ranked 33rd in nation

NEW ORLEANS, La.(Sept. 1, 2010) – A few weeks ago the women’s cross country team was labeled as the No. 3 team in the West Region. Today, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released the National pre-season poll, which ranked the Tigers No. 33 among more than 400 schools across the country.

The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference was also represented by the  Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Athenas who are currently ranked No. 17.

Occidental will be led by the junior duo of  Sadie Mohler and Eliza Dornbush who have tasted victory with a first place SCIAC finish last fall, will pace the pack as they have their sights set on a repeat.

The pair are joined by a dozen more returning harriers and welcome an incoming class of nine.

In just 10 days all 23 members on the 2010 roster will have a chance to showcase their abilities at the UC Irvine Invitational.
