Women’s cross country competes at Pomona-Pitzer Invitational
CLAREMONT, Calif. (Oct. 2, 2010) – Meghan Whalen turned in another solid performance as she led the Tigers' pack today at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational, which saw runners from Division I, II, III and independent runners this morning.
As the first Oxy finisher, Whalen, completed the 6K in 23:29.3 behind a trio of Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference runners. Anne Lydens from Pomona-Pitzer was the second overall finisher and the top league runner.
Sadie Mohler was the second Tiger home in a time of 24:16.0 followed closely by Anna Dalton (24:22.9). Eliza Dornbush ran right on their heels, crossing the line in 24:35.3 as the final Tiger to run a sub-25 minute race.
Nearly breaking that 25-minute mark were both Sally Landfeld and Deanna Dupuy who came across in 25:00.1 and 25:00.9, respectively.
Occidental has concluded its non-conference portion of the 2010 schedule and looks ready to run at the SCIAC Multi-Dual meet hosted at La Mirada Park on Saturday, Oct. 16.
