LA MIRADA, Calif. (Oct. 16, 2010) – In the first Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's cross country race of the year, the Tigers came away with three victories, defeating Cal Lutheran University, Caltech and the University of La Verne.
Pacing the pack today was Sadie Mohler who has been dealing with health issues all fall. The junior was 16th overall, finishing the 6k in a time of 23:22.02. Next in line for the Tigers was Meghan Walen (23:41.56) followed by Eliza Dornbush (24:05.43). The fourth runner for the Black and Orange today was Sierra Walker who ran a 24:21.01. Anna Dalton and Jenna Wong raced stride for stride, finishing in 24:33.82 and 24:37.53, respectively. Rounding out the scoring for Oxy on the course today was Tara Saxena (24:48.27).
The race winner today at La Mirada Park was Annie Lydens from Pomona-Pitzer who completed the course in 22:08.68.
Occidental was 3-4 overall, falling to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, PP, the University of Redlands and Whittier College. Complete results can be found here.
The Tigers will prepare for the SCIAC Championship meet, which will be held on Sat. Oct. 30 at 9:00 a.m. at Prado Park.
