SANTA CLARITA — Oxy first year Roxanne Valle was the best NCAA Division III finisher at the Mustang Challenge on Saturday, continuing her fast start to the season.
Valle ran the 5K in 18 minutes, 35.70 seconds, finishing 28th overall in a field of 226 runners from schools like Loyola Marymount, UCLA and Cal State Fullerton.
Valle has already finished second at the Pomona-Pitzer/Oxy Dual Meet and set an informal 3,200 meter Oxy time trial record (11:41).
Team Finish: The Tigers placed 13th of 20 overall. The Tigers beat SCIAC opponents Pomona-Pitzer, Cal Lutheran and Caltech, losing only to Redlands, which finished 12th.
