Womens Cross Country Enters SCIAC Championships Nationally Ranked

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Oct. 28, 2009) - The Oxy cross country teams will compete in the SCIAC Championships this Saturday at Prado Park. For the first time this season, the women have garnered national recognition, as they enter Saturday ranked 30th in the country.
The women are coming off a win at the SCIAC Multi Dual meet and are looking to wrap up the conference title this weekend. They also are ranked #3 in the West Region, the highest ranked team from the SCIAC.
The men have a little more work to do, as they finished third at the Multi Dual, and trail both CMS and Pomona Pitzer in the standings. But with a strong showing this weekend, the men can improve on their West Region ranking (currently 9th) and SCIAC standings on the same day. As CMS and Pomona are also ranked ahead of them in the west.
Needless to say this will be a big weekend for the cross country program, that has established itself as one of the best in the region, with the meet beginning at 9am.
