The women's race is scheduled for 9 a.m. on Nov. 14 and the men follow at 10 a.m.
For the women, Pomona-Pitzer's Maya Weigel headlines the individual racers as the Region's defending champion. SCIAC Champion Claremont-Mudd-Scripps enters the women's competition as the favorite, behind steady legs of senior Bridgette Blum, who placed third in the SCIAC race. CMS' biggest threat should come from the Northwest Conference's Whitworth and Willamette, currently ranked No. 2 and No. 3, respectively.
All three schools are ranked very highly in all of Division III. CMS is No. 7, Whitworth is No. 9 and Willamette is No. 11.
CMS is also ranked No. 1 in the West Region for the men, with Willamette at No. 2, Pomona-Pitzer at No. 3, Puget Sound No. 4 and Occidental No. 5.
Zorg Loustlaet of CMS, the 2012 West Region Champion, was the runner up in 2014 and 2013 to Oxy's John Guzman Aguilar who has since graduated. His best competition should come from Pomona-Pitzer's John Fowler, who was third last year and is the 2015 SCIAC Champion.Follow Oxy Athletics on Twitter Sign Up for Newsletters Watch on Youtube Follow us on Instagram
