Rob Bartlett's first Oxy experience was as an exchange student from the United Kingdom in 2002-03. That year as a member of the Occidental track & field team, Bartlett earned All-SCIAC honors in the 200 meters, the 400 meters, and both the 400m & 1600m relays.

After returning to the UK to complete his undergraduate degree at the University of East Anglia, Bartlett is now back at Oxy, entering his fifth year on the cross-country and track & field coaching staff.

Since Bartlett took over as Head Coach of Cross Country in 2006 the Oxy Tigers won both the men’s and women’s 2007 SCIAC cross country titles, with the men repeating in 2008, marking their third consecutive SCIAC Championship.

Overall, Bartlett has coached 14 individual SCIAC Champions between cross country and track & field. Under his guidance three track & field school records have been broken. Also during that time, eight Tigers have been recognized as Academic All-Americans and three athletes have earned four All-American honors.

Bartlett is a USATF Level Two certified coach in sprints, hurdles, relays and endurance events. He was also named the 2007 DIII West Region Men’s Coach of the Year for cross country.
