Tigers Take Down Sagehens

LOS ANGELESSantiago Bedoya-Gallego, Elijah Remy and Ethan Glass each scored a goal as the Occidental men's soccer team beat Pomona-Pitzer 3-0 at Jack Kemp Stadium on Saturday.

Oxy improves to 3-2 overall and 2-1 in SCIAC. Pomona-Pitzer goes to 2-3-1 and 1-2-1.

Bedoya-Gallego rebounded his own shot from the six-yard box and buried a shot in the top right corner, giving Oxy a 1-0 lead in the 7th minue.

Remy one-timed a slow rolling cross from Ariel Rosso, scoring Oxy's second goal in the 19th minute.

Glass had the prettiest goal of the game on a set piece. Rosso played a good ball in and Glass got just enough of his head on the ball to send it off the right post and into the net to make it 3-0 in the 73rd minute. 

Rosso finished with two assists. 

Led by center back Gabriel Barrett-Jackson, Oxy's defense played well, allowing just a handful of decent opportunities.

Oxy goalkeeper Dante Amodeo earned his second consecutive shutout in his second start. 

Pomona-Pitzer's best chance came from Taylor Reifert who had a right-footed shot go off the cross bar in the 84th minute.

The Tigers are back in action at Cal Lutheran on Sept. 20 at 7 p.m.
