Oxy Beats Whittier, Remains Undefeated

LOS ANGELES — The Occidental men's soccer team remains unbeaten.

Nate Dunning and Liam Walsh each scored a goal as the Tigers took down Whittier 2-0 at Jack Kemp Stadium on Saturday.

Dunning worked his way up the right side of the field in the 34th minute, made a nice touch to his right foot and beat the Poets' keeper back post with a shot that went in off the side netting.

Oxy put the game away in the 63rd minute with its second goal of the game. The Tigers hustled in the Poets' box, got a fortunate bounce and then Ethan Glass found Liam Walsh on a cross for the goal.

Whittier's best chance to score came in the 87th minute when Nicolas Barrera headed a ball off the cross bar on a corner kick.

The Tigers have outscored their opponents 13-1 this season and 21-1 if you include their exhibition win.
