THOUSAND OAKS — The Occidental men's soccer team is back in business.
After losing four straight to some of the tougher teams in the SCIAC, the Tigers righted the ship with a 2-1 road victory at Cal Lutheran on Saturday.
Cal Lutheran's Igor Lumbrano scored on a penalty kick in the 23rd minute, Oxy evened the game on an own goal in the 32nd minute, and then took the lead for good with a penalty kick from Adrian Paredes in the 57th minute.
Things grew more and more anxious as CLU had a handful on long throw ins and corner kicks in the final minute of the game, but Oxy's defense was able to fend them off.
Paredes has had some magical moments this year, leading Oxy with five goals and one assist, including three game-winning goals.
Season Impact: Oxy improves to 5-5-2 overall and 2-4 in SCIAC play.
