COMMERCE — The Occidental men's and women's swimming and diving teams continued competition at the 2017 SCIAC Swimming and Diving Championships on Thursday at the Brenda Villa Aquatic Center.
The meet began on Wednesday and runs through Saturday with preliminary rounds in the morning and finals in the evening each day.
The big news for the Tigers on Day 2 was that every swimmer dropped time in every event.
"We lit it up in the finals tonight, going even faster than the morning, which means we've hit our taper perfectly," Oxy head coach Steve Webb said. "We're setup well for the next couple of days and we're really excited about tomorrow."
Austin Lashley broke Will Westwater's 2016 Oxy school record in the 50 free, going 20.86 in the event for a fifth-place finish. Westwater went 20.93 last season.
Chase Mitchell placed 11th in the 50 free, swimming a lifetime best 21.21.
