Manasse To Take USC Assistant Tennis Job

LOS ANGELES — Oxy head men's and women's tennis coach Rachel Manasse is moving on to NCAA Division I, taking an assistant coaching job with the University of Southern California.

The first year head coach led both Oxy tennis teams to finish in the final ITA West Region polls this season. The Oxy men were No. 16 and the women were No. 18 in the final poll of the season. Oxy women's standout Samantha Farrell made the individual top 20, ranking No. 19.

The Oxy men won their first SCIAC match in three years and surpassed their win total from the previous two years combined.

Manasse came to Oxy from NCAA Division III powerhouse Claremont-Mudd-Scripps where she was a very successful assistant for the Athenas' women's team. During her tenure, CMS went 75-9 overall, 31-1 in SCIAC play, won three SCIAC Championships and advanced deep into the NCAA tournament in all three seasons, including a pair of semifinals appearances and a third-place finish in 2014-15.
