LOS ANGELES — The Occidental men's tennis team won its second match in a row with a 6-3 win over Pacific (Ore.) on Thursday.
Lucas Chmielewski led the way at No. 1 singles, beating Sean Murphy, 6-2, 6-1. David Zhang won a thriller at No. 2 singles over Rayden Murata, 6-4, 6-7 (5), 10-4 and Joseph Schwarcz beat Jonathon Chung at No. 3, 6-2, 6-2.
The Tigers swept all three doubles matches, going up 3-0 prior to the singles starting, getting the momentum and setting the tone for the match. The closest doubles match was Zhang and Schwarcz edging Reyn Miyagawa and Murphy, 8-7 (2).
Season Impact: The Tigers improve to 6-7 on the season, conclude their non-conference schedule and are 3-1 against the Northwest Conference this season.
Pacific (Ore.) falls to 8-5 overall.
