Gatison Extends Hitting Streak Against Redlands

LOS ANGELES — Oxy outfielder Nyla Gatison had another big day at the plate, going 5 for 9 with a triple, two runs scored and a pair of RBIs in a doubleheader against Redlands at Bell Field on Saturday.

The Tigers lost the first game 8-4 and the second game 9-5.

Gatison, a junior from San Leandro, has a seven-game hitting streak and a four-game multi-hit streak going. 

Bailey Stevens also continued to hit well, going 2 for 5 with a triple, double and a run scored. She has at least one hit in 19 of her last 20 games and ranks in the top 10 in the SCIAC in most offensive categories. 

Drew Samson went 3 for 6 with a pair of doubles and runs scored.

Delaney Russell pitched all seven innings for the Tigers in Game 1. 

Season Impact: The Tigers fall to 4-22 on the season and 3-12 in SCIAC.

Redlands improves to 12-15 and 6-9.

Next Game: The Tigers are back in action against Pomona-Pitzer on April 6.
