Tigers Improve to 7-3 With Goucher Win

LOS ANGELESSierra Slack and the Occidental women's lacrosse team dominated on the draw and on the scoreboard in a 20-6 non-conference win over Goucher on Wednesday.

Slack, who's been named the SCIAC Player of the Week two times already this season, had a goal, four assists and seven draw controls.

"We were able to play our game tonight, dictating the pace of play by winning the draw 19-7," Oxy head coach Stephanie Mark said. 

Madisyn Hallare had a great all-around game for Oxy with three points, three ground balls, three draw controls and a career-high five caused turnovers. Ciara Byrne was also a force on the field with five points, six ground balls, and four caused turnovers. Nicole Litt had two draw controls, three ground balls and two caused turnovers.

Alessandra Pelliccia led 10 different Tigers who found the net with five goals and Lauren DiLella added three.

Oxy got up big early, leading 13-4 at halftime.

It's the Oxy's sixth win by double digits this season, the fourth time its offense has scored at least 20 goals and the fourth time its defense has held an opponent under 10 goals.

Oxy improves to 7-3 overall on the season.

The Tigers are back in action at Pomona-Pitzer on March 28 at 7 p.m for the first of three consecutive road games.
