Pelliccia, a two-time All-SCIAC selection and former SCIAC Offensive Player of the Year, had a team-high three goals, one assist and four ground balls as Oxy narrowly held off Chapman 10-9 on the road in the team's season opener on Wednesday night.
Hallare scored two goals and had six draw controls for Oxy, Isabella Litt had two goals and three caused turnovers, Lauren DiLella had one goal, one assist and five ground balls, Elizabeth Andrews had a goal and five ground balls, and Marie Whitmore had a goal, rounding out Oxy's top peformers.
Khin, who is in her first year as Oxy's head coach after serving as an assistant for three seasons for former Oxy head coach Stephanie Janice Mark, opens her head coaching career 1-0.
"I'm happy with the way we were mentally tough enough to grind through some bad weather to play a solid 60 minutes of lacrosse," Khin said. "We successfully controlled the ball on attack and held our ground on defense against a good Chapman team."
Oxy was up 4-3 in the first half and then made a run to go up 10-7 with 5 minutes left in the game, holding off the Panthers as they got within striking distance late.
Alexandra Callaway led the Panthers with three goals and three ground balls, and Leah Donnelly had a goal and seven draw controls.
