LOS ANGELES — Alessandra Pelliccia had five goals, three assists and six draw controls as the Occidental women's lacrosse team won a close game against Framingham St. 14-13 at Jack Kemp Stadium on Saturday.
Pelliccia was all over the field, filled up the stat sheet and just about every time Oxy needed a big play, she came through.
After the Rams cut Oxy's lead to 9-8 early in the second half, Pelliccia came up with two goals to put the Tigers back up by three with 24:37 to play.
Pelliccia's two biggest plays were assists on Oxy's final two goals of the game, finding Annie Dolan each time. The last goal came with 9:40 to play, putting the Tigers up 14-11.
Framingham played from behind for most of the game and kept the pressure on the Tigers with a couple of runs, but was never able to tie the game or take the lead in the second half.
Dolan finished the game with four goals.
Oxy's defense took over late, holding the Rams to just two goals for the final 9 minutes to secure the victory.
Oxy goalkeeper Neah Bois had 10 saves, including a stretch of three saves on one Framingham St. possession that preserved a two-goal cushion around the 7-minute mark.
Lauren Di Lella had a big game for the Tigers, creating offense with three goals and three assists, Shai Goodman had an assist and and seven draw controls, and Madisyn Hallare had a goal and seven draw controls.
Alissa Marino and and Nicole Pacheco led the Rams with four goals each.
The Rams have already beaten two SCIAC teams this year. They beat Whittier 16-0 and edged Chapman 13-12.
