LOS ANGELES — First year head coach Hannah Khin and her staff were named SCIAC Coaching Staff of the Year, and five Occidental women's lacrosse players were named All-SCIAC on Tuesday.
Khin, who spent three years as Oxy's top assistant coach from 2015-2017 and then the 2018 season at Southwestern (Texas), led Oxy to a second-place finish in the SCIAC at 7-3 and the No. 3 seed in the SCIAC Tournament in her first season as a head coach.
"We feel honored to be recognized by the other conference coaches," Khin said, including her assistant coach and former Oxy star women's lacrosse player Sierra Slack. "We couldn't ask for a better group of seniors who've led our team well all season and we're excited to be headed to the playoffs."
Madisyn Hallare, a senior from El Dorado Hills, was named First Team All-SCIAC as a midfielder. She led the league in draw controls (50) and ranked in the top 10 in the SCIAC in goals (24), points (29) and ground balls (33).
Bates led Oxy's defense, Pelliccia was versatile on attack and in transition, and Di Lella and Goodman were outstanding instigators on offense. Pelliccia was fourth in goals (28), Di Lella was sixth in points (32), Goodman was sixth in assists (9) and Bates was seventh in ground balls (28) in the SCIAC.
The Tigers are headed to the SCIAC Postseason Tournament as the No. 3 seed, playing at Pomona-Pitzer on Wednesday night at 7 p.m.Follow Oxy Athletics on Twitter Sign Up for Newsletters Watch on Youtube Follow us on Instagram
