ABILENE, Texas — The Occidental women's soccer team is headed to the Lone Star State.
The Tigers will play No. 16 Trinity (Texas) at host Hardin-Simmons in Abilene, Texas in the First Round of the NCAA Division III Playoffs on Saturday at 3:30 PM CT.
If Oxy wins, it will play the winner of Puget Sound and No. 7 Hardin-Simmons on Sunday at 3 p.m. local time.
The first round matchup between the Oxy Tigers and the Trinity Tigers will be a defensive battle. Oxy has given up just six goals on the season and Trinity has given up only one.
Oxy won its first SCIAC Tournament Championship in program history in a penalty shootout at Pomona-Pitzer on Saturday, earning the SCIAC's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Playoffs. Oxy has a record of 10-2-5 overall and finished second in the SCIAC at 8-2-4.
