THOUSAND OAKS — The Occidental women's swimming and diving team won another SCIAC dual meet on Saturday, taking down Cal Lutheran 205-83.
Oxy improves to 4-2 in SCIAC dual meet competition with its only loses coming to the SCIAC's top two teams Claremont-Mudd-Scripps and Pomona-Pitzer.
"We lost to them last year so it was nice to go out and dominate the meet," Oxy head coach Steve Webb said. "We had a number of great performances and went 1-2-3 in a couple of races so overall it was a great effort by our women's team today."
Oxy lost to CLU in a dual meet last season and finished below them at the SCIAC Championships.
"We are continuing to improve and push our potential," Webb said. "We want to keep working hard and closing in on the top three in the SCIAC."
Cindy Dong, a standout rookie from Sarasota, Fla., was the headliner for the Tigers winning all three of her events and helping the 400 free relay team of Valentyna Koudelkova, Jessica Thompson and Joan Kronick to a victory. Dong won the 200 free (1:59.83), 200 fly (2:10.40) and 100 fly (58.96).
Siena Lucido was impressive 400 I.M. (4:45.32) finishing with one of the top times in the conference.
Laura Chun, Oxy's senior captain, won the 100 (1:09.67) and 200 (2:31.63) breaststroke.
The Tigers also won the 200 medley relay with Driscoll, Chun, Annika Moen and Kronick (1:53.25).
Next Meet: The Tigers are back in action with their two home meets against Redlands on Feb. 2 and Chapman on Feb. 9.
