REDLANDS — Sabrina Degnan just keeps getting better and more impressive in the throwing events for the Occidental women's track and field team.
The sophomore from Atascadero posted a lifetime best by over 9 feet in the javelin, throwing 135-07. The marks moves her up to first in the country in the event, third all-time in Oxy program history, and will also likely qualify her for nationals in the event.
"Last year Sabrina suprised everyone with how quickly she picked up the javelin and her goal this year is to make it to nationals," Oxy head coach Rob Barlett said. "She's very close to making that goal a reality."
First year sprinter LaShauna Porter had the best meet of her collegiate career, running 12.58 in the 100m, which puts her at No. 10 all-time in Oxy program history. She also ran the 200m in 26.12, a collegiate best by .7 seconds and the third best time in the SCIAC.
Emma Yudelevitch ran 12.50 in the 100m, the third best time in the SCIAC so far this season, and 25.84 in the 200m, which ranks second in the SCIAC.
Allison Kilday won the 400m hurdles with a time of 65.64, the fourth best time in the SCIAC.Follow Oxy Athletics on Twitter Sign Up for Newsletters Watch on Youtube Follow us on Instagram
