Sellergren, Quetti-Hall Lead Oxy Against Chapman

LOS ANGELESMadelene Sellergren and Kamea Quetti-Hall led the Occidental women's volleyball team against a very good Chapman squad at Rush Gym on Tuesday.

The Tigers fell 3-0.

Sellergren had a team-best nine kills, including five in the first set, and Quetti-Hall had four in the first and six for the game. Taylor Gorretta also chipped in five kills and Lauren Duffy had three.

Oxy was most competitive in the second set, pushing the Panthers and holding a small lead during the first 10 points before it slipped away.

Katherine Chodaczek, a first year from Berwyn, Pa., saw significant playing time at the setter position for Oxy, totaling 10 assists in the match. Regular setter Lara Minassians had 13 assists and two kills.

Jessi Lumsden led the Panthers with a game-high 14 kills.

Season Impact: Oxy falls to 2-18 overall and 0-9 in SCIAC.

Chapman improves to 16-2 and 9-0.

Next Game: The Tigers are back in action at Caltech on Friday at 6 p.m.

Oxy's next home match is against Pomona-Pitzer at 6 p.m. on Saturday.
