SANTA CLARITA — Sabrina Thurber led four Occidental women's cross country runners who ran lifetime personal records at The Master's Invite in Santa Clarita on Saturday.
"I'm really proud of the women's team. They raced smart and aggressively today," Oxy head coach Rob Bartlett said. "They are really trending in the right direction at the right time of the season."
Thurber led the Occidental women's team with a 21st-place finish in a field of hundreds of runners and posted a lifetime best of 18:38.
"Sabrina is doing a wonderful job as a captain, leading by example and bringing positive energy to the whole group," Bartlett said.
Oxy's No. 3 was Lilah Abrams, who also ran a huge personal record, breaking 19 minutes for the first time and crossing the line in 18:58.
Kayla Lim ran 18:50 as Oxy's No. 2.
The Tigers are back in action Oct. 19 at Oberlin College in Ohio.
